Axles

Front and Rear Axles
Some motorcycles, especially on Sportbikes like the Yamaha YZF-R1, have hollow axles. This is done to save weight on the motorcycle. These can easily be replicated by replacing the kit's axle screw with a piece of  brass tubing. If the 1:1 axle is solid, then use a piece steel wire. Look for the K&S rack in you hobby shop for steel rod and tubing in the small sizes needed for modelling. The 1/16" I.D. brass tubing and 3/32" steel rod is a perfect fit for most of Tamiya's 1/12 motorcycles.
