"Lab out" will present a form for filling out a lab case. This window will open.
Click on the
button to begin a new lab case, or
to modify the one displayed.
The "Out" field will automatically contain the current date. Under "Reqd", enter the date that the item must be back from the lab. This is usually the patient's next appointment. Also, under "In", enter the date that the item arrives.
Next, the dentist and patient should be selected from the pre-determined list. The "Lab" field will present a list of all labs that are entered through the Dental Labs menu item. If the list is blank, then you should use the Dental Labs menu item to enter information about the laboratory whose services you will be using.
The "Type" field will contain the type of laboratory procedure required in this transaction. It can also be selected from a list of pre-determined possibilities. To edit the list, use the Administration » Configuration » Setup » Services menu item. All procedure names entered here will show up on the list of laboratory procedures presented in the "Type" field of this window.
The "Completed" check box, if activated, will indicate that this case is complete and no longer active. If the case is still in progress (this will be true if the case is just being entered) then leave this check box blank. Active lab cases will show up under the list generated by the Lab in... menu item.
Finally, any comments or notes about the case can be entered into the field on the bottom.
Click on the
button in the toolbar to save any changes you have made. The record that you have entered or modified will now show up in the list generated by the Report menu item. If the case is active, then it will also appear in the list generated by the Lab in... menu item.
