With Kurzweil 3000 Version 7, assistance to students with reading and writing difficulties has been expanded in three primary areas: Test Taking, On-Line Books and Material Access, and Image Management.
TEST TAKING
Provide unique, customized sets of testing accommodations conforming to individual IEP requirements as well as learning styles and preferences.
- Type short or long answers directly onto the image of a test and Kurzweil 3000 adjusts text space to the length of the response.
- Facilitate review by seamlessly reading aloud the educators' questions followed by students' answers.
- Adjust Text and Sticky Notes as appropriate to each test-taking situation by changing font style, font size, background color and text color.
- Customize and control toolbars to simplify responding to questions and lock down selected features where appropriate based on the student and the nature of the test being given.
- Drag and drop text selections within an image document to expedite composing answers, picking choices, and placing responses correctly.
- Better utilize the audible word prediction tool, which can now be operated from the number keypad using fewer keystrokes and offers expanded options for managing the word prediction dictionary.
