How Do I...?

BACK | PATIENT LET. | PROFESSIONAL LET. | LET. TEMPLATE

This feature will export patient personal information (name, address and phone number(s)) into a file, so that it can be transported or viewed in other applications. This is the dialog box where this is accomplished.

Scrn: Export Patient Info

First, you must select which patient records to export. To do this, click on Filter. To clear the list of patients whose records will be exported, click on the Clear button.

[Filter- Mention All]

Under Format, determine the file format that you wish for the resulting file. There are several options.

DIF- [No idea]
dBase- This will export into a dBase database file.
SYLK- This format is a popular form of data exchange in database applications.
Tab- This will export the information into a tab-delimited list. Each field will be separated by a tab character and each record by a return character. Every field has its information enclosed in double quotation marks (""). Click here for an example of output.
Comma- This will export the database as a comma-delimited list. Each field will be separated by a comma (,) with no spaces before or after and each record by a return character. Every field has its information enclosed in double quotation marks (""). Click here for an example of output.
Mirror- Use this option to export the patient list in native MIRROR Information Services format. This is useful for importing the list into another MIRROR Information Services database.

When the format and the patients to export have been set up, click on the Export button in the bottom right corner of the Export Patient Information window. In the resulting dialog, name the file to be saved.

Now, it is possible to import this patient list into another application, and deal with it there (see screenshot below).

This is an example of the patient file exported as text, then imported and formatted in Microsoft® Excel© [notation?]. Now, it is possible to exchange the data with anyone who has a copy of this program.

[Labels]

Clicking on this button will bring up the Labels option. To learn more about this, see Administration » Configuration » Setup » Labels.


LETTERS

This contains information pertaining to the Letters menu.

PATIENT LETTERS

Patient letters are letters that are sent to the site's patients as reminders of appointments, payments and other relevant information. It is possible to create a filter for the purpose of sending letters to only select recipients.

PROFESSIONAL LETTERS

Professional letters are sent to colleagues, laboratories or suppliers. They may contain patient record information, business arrangements or other things necessary for maintaining normal operations.
