How Do I...?

EXPORT/LABELS | BACK | PATIENT LET. | PROFESSIONAL LET.

This menu function will allow you to enter and modify letter templates, the contents of which can be sent using the Patient Letter or Professional Letter menu commands. These templates are comparable to form letters.

This window is where these templates are edited.

Scrn: Letter Template

To enter a new letter template, click on the New button in the toolbar. Otherwise, click on the Edit button to modify the template displayed. Use the Previous or Next arrows in the toolbar to scroll through the letter templates.

First, the template needs a title as a way of referring to it. Enter it into theTitle field at the top of the window. Then, set the output parameters using the options below. The font, point size and style (i.e. plain, bold or italic) of the letter can be modified using these options. In addition, the margins can be set using this portion of the program.

Finally, enter the body of the letter in the field below. Note that it is not necessary to enter salutations such as "Dear ," at the beginning of the letter as this is automatically entered when creating a patient letter from the template (see above).

When finished entering information, click on the Confirm button in the toolbar.

PATIENT LETTERS

Patient letters are letters that are sent to the site's patients as reminders of appointments, payments and other relevant information. It is possible to create a filter for the purpose of sending letters to only select recipients.

PROFESSIONAL LETTERS

Professional letters are sent to colleagues, laboratories or suppliers. They may contain patient record information, business arrangements or other things necessary for maintaining normal operations.
