"Beyond The Screen Door"
began with just one door.

It was a one-of-a-kind door, handcrafted in the home workshop of Michael Burke in 1986 as a Christmas gift for his father. But that door opened up on a new enterprise that now employs a committed staff, with dealers throughout Canada and in the United States.

Modeled after the traditional doors Michael's father had admired through his business travels in the Southern states, our first door attracted enough attention locally that Michael built more similar doors. He began to display them in a small retail shop, then built his business at home & garden shows and through local dealers. In 1987, "BTSD Inc." incorporated as a business with Michael Burke as president. In 1992, his partner Maria Mulloy joined the firm as Director of Marketing & Sales.

Backing the company's commitment to quality is a full one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

In keeping with our sense of community, and our own impact on the environment, Beyond the Screen Door Inc. is an active supporter of reforestation programs. With the sale of every door, we make a contribution to Trees Ontario, on behalf of our customer, to purchase seedlings for their program to preserve the benefits and beauty of natural wood for future generations.
