How Do I...?

Choosing this from the menu will open the following window.

Scrn: Material Required Log

This window contains a list of materials to be ordered. It serves as a log of the wares required at the office, along with their order numbers, date required, quantity required and supplier information. Use it to electronically manage office supplies and orders in progress.

To place a new order, click New. A new line will be created in the list below if the list was empty before. Otherwise, move the insertion point to the Quantity field of the last item in the list and press Tab to create a new entry.

Note that clicking on the New button in a sense doubles as the Edit button in this instance.

The Delete button in the toolbar will delete the selected record from the list, if you are in Edit mode. To enter the Edit mode, click on the New button (see above paragraph).

First, enter the date into the first field. Then, enter the item number. Next, type in the description of the item, followed by the supplier. Note that the Supplier field will offer a choice from a list of possibilities. (For more information about adding or modifying suppliers, see Suppliers.) The quantity required is entered under Qty.

The next two entries in the record will be the check boxes under Order and In. The Order field, if checked, indicates that the item has been placed in order. The In field simply indicates that the order for that item has arrived. Once the item has arrived, it is no longer needed on the list.

Continue creating new records until all required information is entered. Note that it is not absolutely necessary to click the Confirm button in the tool bar after completing entry or modification each individual record; it is only necessary click the Confirm button when done entering or modifying all required records.
