It's about fucking time! This long awaited debut album was held up because of the sale of Mo Wax/Island/Polygram to Universal and the resulting reshuffling (which saw Mo Wax purchase back much of its artists). Andrea's 12 track debut album was to be released in 1997 but only came out on schedule in Japan. Kiss My Arp fulfils the promise of Parker's style that marries dark electro beats with her moody cello playing. And now she's added some dreamy vocals since her instrumental Mo Wax debut in 1996. That track, 'Melodius Thunk', still impresses for it's chunky bass kicks and industrial steam-press counter-rhythms. Later singles, "Return Of The Rocking Chair" and "The Unknown" feature subdued bluesy vocals over slow grooves and string sections orchestrated by Will Malone, who's worked with Massive Attack, UNKLE and The Verve. But if you can't dig the vocals there is also the instrumental version of the album.
