Fruitloop are the duo of Tara Strong & Daniel Goddard, whose debut comes after two twelve-inches of big beats for Cup Of Tea. "The Drifter," from their first single released in 1997, builds up a space rockin' momentum with slide guitar over a Can-style break and Hammond organ riff. But not everything Fruitloop do is big beat. What most runs through this disc of varied grooves is the synth bass lines that jump up with MC Cantankerous on "Jumpin" and the vocodered electro-ragga of "Dr. Filthy" or dub down during the Meat Beat-sampling "Ran & Tried It." Keeping this one in your car is probably a good idea. Watch the street peoples' heads turn when they hear the pastiche of "Funky Town" in "The Hustler (Electriod Pimp Mix)." Fun and funky stuff.
