From the New York group Sub Dub comes Reuel "Raz" Mesinai with a Middle Eastern-flavoured release as Badawi (his third, after releases on Roir, Bedouin Sound Clash and Jerusalem Under Fire). Playing acoustic instruments, his music will appeal to listeners of Muslimgauze or WordSound's Professor Shehab. Badawi's choice of Arabic pipes, violin and piano provide the melodies over tabla beats. This time there are fewer of his dub bass lines than before, as The Heretic Of Ether is a dimension-hopping tale in three chapters that works more like a pseudo-soundtrack.
