Any system as complex and comprehensive as FliteBase requires periodic maintenance. This is normally the responsibility of the System Administrator.

FliteBase includes facilities for displaying performance and operating system information as well as an auto-capture error log for troubleshooting purposes. Archive, backup, and restore functions as well as a number of DOS-level services are available from within the system.

Data access rights are maintained through the security system and a graphics designer is included to customize generated graphics.

Although a number of safeguards are included to preclude data loss, corruption remains a possibility with any database manager. This is normally confined to index files and a number of internal facilities are provided to attempt repair.

It cannot be overemphasized that with any computer system, a program of regular backups is the best method of containing data loss.
