TAROT CLASSES
The History of Tarot
Lorena Elke's Tarot Bio
Level I This 4 week course is a beginners class for those who are experienced, not so experienced or just plain curious about Tarot as a Divination Art Form. An overview of the Tarot deck and its basic suit meanings, card meanings and basic spreads will be explored. I will encourage everyone to bring along their favorite tarot deck, as we will compare and contrast the imagery of varying decks.
Level II This 4 week course is a follow-up to Level I. Focus will be placed on the Minor Arcana component of the tarot deck. Through intensive work with individual cards, learners will become intimately familiar with the rhythm and flow of the minor arcana including how the energy of the elements (suits) inform the energy of the reading. In addition, learners will become acquainted with numerology, through understanding in detail, the significance of the numbers of the tarot cards. The court cards will also be highlighted, in terms of their interpretation of personality traits and characteristics that each represent.
Level III This 4 week course is a follow-up to Levels I and II Focus will be placed on the Major Arcana of the Tarot. These are considered the "heavy" cards, because they speak to the spiritual/destined component of the cards. The Major Arcana cards were the initial cards developed in medieval times and hold the most history in terms of both visual and intellectual interpretation.
In this Level III class, we will place most focus on developing our intuitive and visual interpretations of these complex and oftentimes complicated component of the Tarot deck.
Level IV This 4 week course is the culmination of Levels I, II and III. The focus of this course is to "pull it all together", and offers a synthesis to the knowledge discovered in the previous levels. The use of Tarot in healing, magic and ritual is central to this final series of classes. Various spreads and varying uses of the tarot are explored to enhance and further develop each students own natural ability to utilize Tarot for deeper, therapeutic purposes.
