Rocks and Water
Children's Concert: (ages 5-adult)
"Rawlings' music really rocks" says the Beach Metro news, and it does: all
about two of the basic elements of our planet. This is not so much about
issues. It's a fun, highly singable show about understanding our
environment through Earth Science.
Review: Eric Nagler
"No compromises with what we think children need, or how
we think we have to teach them. No paternalistic
concessions go to our mistaken stereotypes about kid's
naivete. From rock to folk to jazz to zidego, it's all there in
sophisticated taste, and it's all great. Your kids will love it.
You'll love it."
Juggling Dinosaurs
Children's Concert (English): (ages 4 and up)
The repertoire includes delightful songs about Chinese acrobats, Magic
alphabet soup, chocolate dinosaurs, and much more. They stimulate the
imagination and captivate the audience in a personal, humourous and
participatory style.
Review: Vancouver Province
"Rawlings has a whimsical, winsome collection of tunes. toe tapping jigs
and reels, songs fashioned out of legends and nonsensical fantasies that
toe the line between innocent and wry. These are images long to be
remembered."
Soupe de Jour
Children's Concert (French): (from age 4)
We are going to LA BELLE PROVINCE, (Québec) in music and song: to Vieux
Montréal, Le Carnaval de Québec or L'Estrie (Eastern Townships-rural
Québec). French Canadian traditional and popular songs are combined with
airs jigs and reels on la flute-a-bec (recorder) and cultural references
for the uninitiated. The commentary is in English or French, and the songs
are geared to the abilities of the audience.
Review: K. Charrington, student - Pickering High School
"The amount of sing-a-longs were astounding, the songs easily received by
the students, who sang along to the songs, responding very well to each
song. They had a very good time and hoped it would last longer."
Celebration of Canada
Concert (all ages)
Lively, provocative, humourous and descriptive, the concert involves the
audience in original and traditional songs from all regions of Canada.
Themes include exploration, recreation, personalties, labour and tall
tales.
Review: Montreal Gazette
"A great tunesmith is Chris Rawlings... He is a musician who has found a
way of turning observations, amusing experiences, bits of history-anything
it seems into singable and listenable songs...and he's a handy guitar
picker too!"

Review: Ottawa Citizen
"Rawlings sings mostly original material with a strong voice that's as
varied as his act. He can make it slow, smooth and sweet, and, when called
for, raucous and machine gun fast. The lyrics are always clearly audible
and written well."
Review: Sault Star
"Possessing a rich, smooth baritone that can slide over a melody like
liquid honey, and equal expertise on both guitar and recorder, this bard
has the ability to entertain."
