PAMELA GRUNDY - BIO

Born in Windsor Ontario, Pamela graduated in kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in 1974 and then joined the Judy Jarvis Dance and Theatre Company of Toronto. After three with the company she accepted a position teaching modern dance and track and field at the University of Calgary. Prospects of performing with the Danny Grossman Dance Company lured her back to Toronto and she became a permanent member with that company in 1979. In addition to being a featured dancer, she has for many years been a teacher, rehearsal director and assistant to Mr. Grossman. She was appointed Associate Artistic Director of the company in 1991. She has performed extensively with the Randy Glynn Dance Project and has also appeared in works by Claudia Moore, Judith Miller and Anna Blewschamp. A long time participant in dance politics, Pamela has served on the Board of Directors of The Dance In Canada Association, The Dance Committee of the Toronto Arts Council, co-authored the Canadian Dancer's Survival Manual and is currently Chair of the Judy Jarvis Dance Foundation.
