Mirrors

Locating Pins
Sometimes I add locating pins to the mirrors when the may be difficult to place, or need extra strength. I drill a locating hole with a #74 drill into the body and then position the mirror and mark the hole location on the mirror. I CA-glue a piece of 26 gauge wire into the mirror before painting to serve as a locator pin. When attaching the mirrors to the fairing after painting, I use Kristal Klear or some other cement that will not harm the paint. This will ensure I position the mirrors in the correct place, and make for a strong mounting.
