Brakes

Disc Holes
Some motorcycles have holes that keeps the surface of the disc clean and dry. A simple but effective way to add realism to the model is to open up the holes with a drill. You will need micro drills, #61-80, for these tiny holes. Simply use the shank of the drills as a gauge to find the right size. The effect is much better than applying a simple black wash.

Disc Slots
Like the holes, the slots are used to keep the disc surface clean and dry. Opening the slots takes considerably more effort than simple holes. You must drill at either end of the slot. And then use a sharp X-Acto knife to remove the material between the holes.
