Greek Mythology has it that Pegasus (the winged horse) was born from Medusa (a "Gorgon" which was a beast whose hair was made of snakes).
Pegasus was tamed by the deities of Mount Olympus.
Pegasus was responsible for delivering thunderbolts from "Zeus" (the king of the deities)(Greek Mythology)
