Complete suit of armor
Edo period (17th-mid.19th century)
The suit laced with indigo blue cords. Eight iron plates Suji bachi (Sujikabuto) black lacquered helmet mounted with a four lame neck guard. The iron plates were riveted each other and formed into a bowl. Black lacquered iron Menpo-face mask fitted with a three lame black lacquered iron throat guard. Silver lacquered iron shoulder guard. Silver lacquered iron Dou for torso guard with ivory and leather support and with eight sections fitted with six silver lacquered (wood or leather each supported by iron) lame tassets. Iron chain mail and splint sleeves. Thigh and knee guard Haidate with silver lacquered iron chain mail. Suneate foot guards with silver lacquered iron.
Seated height: approx. 135 cm
Condition: Some worn-out sections, gold foil repaired, a rope for the helmet replaced, the throat guard cords worn-out and some missing but considering its age, generally in good condition.
