A complete suit of armor.
Early Edo period.(17th-18th century)
The suit laced with indigo blue cords and with indigo light blue leather cords. The leather cords were rather rare and more expensive. Eight iron plates Suji bachi (Sujikabuto) lacquered(Sabi-ji, rusted-look, finished) helmet mounted with a three lame neck guard. The Iron plates were riveted each other and formed into a bowl. Brass Maedate decoration for helmet. Lacquered(Sabi-ji, rusted-look, finished) iron Menpo face mask fitted with three lame throat guard. Black lacquered iron shoulder guard with indigo blue cords. Black lacquered iron Dou for torso guard with eight sections fitted with six lame tassets. Iron chain mail and splint sleeves. Thigh and knee guard Haidate with iron chain mail. Suneate foot guards with black lacquered iron.
Condition: Very fragile and some worn-out sections, however piece still presents a good appearance when mounted for display.
