Access Control System model 1.2 - specification
Approved accesories:
Power.
- AC transformer 16.5 VAC 37VA Frost or eqivalent
- DC source 24V +10%-20% 1A (such as a supervised battery)
Battery:
If not mounted on the PCB then the external (higher capacity) battery can be used 3.6V rechargeable such as:
- Varta 3/V280R or equivalent
Card reader
( primary and secondary)
- Sensor Engineering - model 30387 - type with 2 colour LED is recomended.
- Motorla proximity reader - model ASR- 505 -10073 Wiegand, single LED control line type is recomended.
Mag Lock
- Burtek Systems Inc Model ML01 12V 480mA or equivalent
Maximum 2 units in parallel
Door contact
NC when doors are closed, contacts from MagLock can be used if available
Request to exit
- Push button: any, NO contact
Communication.
Computer Com 1 or 2 can be used ( as selected in the main bar).
Do not use Com 3 or 4 unless a separate interupt can be used for these ports by a serial port controler.
Connections:
- First controller only: RS232 to PC. Check here for
RS232 cable configuration
- All controllers, up to 30: RS485.
Maximum distance 4000ft end to end.
Cable:
-
2 twisted pairs: AWG 24 UTP IBM Type 3 data cable is recomended.
- Any 2 twisted pair cable can be used as well with lower noise immunity.
- “Quad” can also be used with somewhat degraded performance.
Unreliable operation may result when the total distance is high.
Controller memory.
The controller memory is flexible. Fewer cards - more transactions can be stored. .
For 10 time zones and 10 holidays the controler can store 3000 transactions and 1000 cards. If the system PC is alive and connected to the network the transactions are ofloaded to the PC. Then the PC disk space is the limit.
The controler memory is protected by the battery. The battery should protect the data for 24 hrs typical in case of loss of power for the controler.
