ACS - Software setup
Instalation.
New instalation
The software should instal from the instalation diskettes.
Start from the Program Manager and select :
File
Run
Browse
a:\
install exe
OK
OK
Install
Update.
There is no need to reinstall the entire software.
Back up the .db files.
Copy the acsxxx.exe file into C:\ACSDATA. Update or copy the start up icon. Run the new acsxx.exe software.
If the software demands some xxx.DB file then copy that file as well to the same directory from the update diskette. You may edit the new table with Borlans database software and use the data from your old table.
Software set-up.
Log in and click the right mouse button on the start up bar. Select communication port.
Installer expert.
After login but without opening the tbles run the installer expert.
Select the number of extra fields.The extra fields are placed in the system database, folder Cards. They can be used to store some extra information about the card holders such as phone numbers. These fields are not used by the software.
Select Next.
The install expert will detect the existing controllers
The user needs to fill up the controller names.
Type in the names of the extra fields.
Fields “Type” and “No” are provisional and not used at this time.
Database
In system database you need to update the folders:
- group
- card
- controllers
The controller clock needs to be initialized form system status: RTE setup.
Then the System Database has to be downoladed to the contolers from folder: Controllers.
If a new setup is to be loaded to the controller please allow first for transaction download. Otherwise the transactions will be lost.
Also, backup the old *.db and *.val files since the data may be sometimes lost because of the reconfiguration of the database tables.
Time Zone has to have a link to null or to other time zone.
Security folder contains logic values true and false.
True means access false- no access.
It is sufficient to type t or f in these fields.
