ACS - Hardware setup.

Antistatic protection.

Antistatic protection is required during hanling an instalation of the controller board. Lack of such protection may result in loss of waranty rights. Inputs and ouptuts are protected against the static electricity.

DIP switch addresses.

All controllers should have different adresess. Adreses 0, 1 and 255 are reserved, please do not use them. Number 2 is used for the controler connected to the PC. Numbers which are multiplication of 32 are reserved for repeaters. 32, 64, 96... Coding: bit0=switch1, bit 7 = switch 8 on=0 off=1 Example: Address 2 is set as on off on on on on on on

Reader power.

Select reader supply voltage on JE5. For eample: Sensor Engineering - model 30387 - requires 5V power Motorla proximity reader - model ASR- 505 - requires 12V power. Motorla proximity reader ASR- 505: Beeper control wire can be connected to LED to signal “access granted” or left not connected. If a reader with one colour LED is used (not recomended) then the LED flashes briefly when the access is granted.

Cabling.

Fire alarm signal NC should be connected to master (adres2). It can also be provided to each controller box individualy. Parallel conection of the FA inputs is not recomended. An RS232 cable is required to connect the PC to the first unit. It can be a 1-1 cable with reverser or a cable with a cross. Handshake wire is required. RS232 cable configuration

Jumpers.

On the first unit jumper 57 is opened and jumpers 55 and 56 are closed. Jumpers 55, 56, 57 are closed on the last unit in the chain. On all other units jumpers 55 56 and 57 are opened.

Local loop is required on the first unit to connect JE15 and JE14

	JE15		JE14
=============================
pin 	1		4
	2		5
	4		1
	5		2
All units have to be connected with RS485 cable
	JE15 	to	JE15 next unit
