Jeremy, To my mind, the main purpose of this web-
conversation is to simplify the ideas we are
trying to communicate on this website, and to
multiply the audience or participants. Beyond
babysitting the conference page, I am enjoying,
and appreciate, your "struggle with these complex
ideas" as a participant in the converstaion.

Simplify and miltiply:
by simplify, I mean that I am trying to focus on
the central idea of the site (an idea that will
not let me rest) - a picture is not about a word-
thought, a picture is the thought itself. In the
context of this project to model an unknown
biological development - how do lungs develop the
structure that supports the breath? - to
understand the pictures (an art experience) is to
understand the biological process (a scientific
experience). My intention in the site is to unpack
what is involved in understanding pictures and
also to unpack what is involved in understanding
biological modeling-as-pictures.
