Built as a prototype for the soon-to-follow 1/8 Reynard, the Jordan 191 represented my first
major footstep into the arena of intricate automotive modelling.

Based primarily on Tamiya's 1/20 scale Jordan 191 plastic kit, this model has nevertheless
seen a considerable number of its components replaced, and/or re-worked in order to obtain
a level of detail and realism deemed satisfactory for display. It was, in fact, the perfect starting-point
for the larger-caliber models that would follow: making use of the kit's accurate base components, without the complications and cost of completely re-tooling in large scale.

In such, the timeframe in which the model was built was a rather speedy one: a mere 10 weeks from start to finish... Relatively quick when compared to the 16 months necessary to construct the Reynard 98I.

Though the model pictured has long been retired from the model-competition scene, it has, over a relatively short period of time, gathered an unusual amount of attention and praise from both collectors and competitors alike.

The following is a collage of detail photos highlighting the more interesting aspects of the Jordan 191. I hope you enjoy them.

Sincerely,
