Adriaen Hegeman was born about 1624 emigrated from The Netherlands to New Amsterdam in 1652. Married to Catharina Margits on March 7, 1649, Adriaen settled in Midwout (Flatbush) NY. He was the father of seven sons and one daughter, and died in 1672. Adriaen was the progenitor of many (but certainly NOT ALL) of the Hegeman,Hagaman,Hageman, and Hagerman families found throughout the USA and Canada today.
