The Star Field, by Mei Mei Berssenbrugge is a poem rich in evocative imagery.
After several hours, surfing the net, reading other selections of her works and wondering
what might be appropriate to say about, 'The Star Field' I can only say this.

The meaning of abstract poetry should be defined by its readers.. An image or symbol,
may evoke a completely different response from its varied audience. Therefore the
question isn't, 'What is the meaning of this poem, or have I properly understood it?'.
