THRUSH PEAKE
The Enviroment
Well all Thrush Peake is a tough place to live. In my years here I have seen everything from Giant frightening undead to to Elementals waging their war within the town to mundane animals attacking without cause healing themselves repeatedly. That's the common stuff, don't even get me started on the unusual and truly dangerous stuff. But what it comes down to in Thrush Peake is high risk high reward.
You will learn the skills needed to survive faster in Thrush Peake, you will be given a chance to prove yourself an asset to the Kingdom beyond the chance one would get in a less dangerous place and you will be given the opportunity to make more coin than most people (even some nobles) will see in a lifetime. You will make allies and friends you would be hard pressed to imagine life without (which is too true because quite often your life is in their hands) and you will meet individuals who you cannot trust as far as you can throw them. These people you may even need to rely upon from time to time. So at allot of times your fighting a battle on several sides.
I think I covered the environment well enough, but to truly understand one must experience Thrush Peake themselves.
Thrush Peake and it's place in the Kingdom
Thrush Peake is a Barony unlike any other I know of within the Kingdom. It is not under the control of any one Duchy nor is it under the direct control of the Crown. Instead all five Duchies have equal control of Thrush Peake. I may be wrong but I hear they are all seeking equal representation as well. That Leaves 5 times the opportunity to earn ones way into Noble society. As such we are visited regularly by many ranking dignitaries. Which alone goes to show one that Thrush Peake is no longer the back water hick town it used to be. As a matter of fact it is rich with resources. It is host to both a copper and silver mine as well as a very good stone quarry a thriving lumber industry and a respectable farming society. And for once the extreme environment seems to be working to the advantage of we citizens of Thrush Peake, there seems to be a "growth node" in the area which has our live stock reproducing at a greatly increased rate. So one can easily tell that Thrush Peake is a greatly cherished resource.
The Locale
Thrush Peake is located to the north (too far north) just south of the Dark lands. It is surrounded by mountains to the north. Farmland to the west the rest of the kingdom to the south ...and as of late an ancient undead city to the east where the swamp used to be. we experience the extremes of all four seasons here in Thrush Peake.
Our Enemies
I am just going to list the biggest ones here and a little bit about them just so your aware of what it is they are. To say anything more would be to give away information to our enemies because they may read this as well. Read this part a few times before packing your bags and moving north to join us because this is just a sample.
Serringa - An ancient undead city recently raised to the surface after a long long time trapped underground. This city is host to terrors we have never seen before. They are far from the mundane undead we are used to encountering (the fact that I wrote that sentence shows how much Thrush Peake desensitizes you). They are currently what scares me the most in the area,
The Cabal - A group of undead led by the "Doths". The Doths from what I have learnt were Generals during the Necromantic war. They are skilled greater undead with ambitions of true terror. They have beaten and been beaten by the town many times except for one of their top assassins named Clawdius (a former citizen of the town) he almost always slips between the towns fingers to escape. Recently the Cabal seems to have gone into hiding from what I am told. Apparently they are intimidated by not being the biggest bad guys on the block. I say that because I do not wanna think about what they are up to if they are planning something.
The Nightmare Legion - The Legion is an organization that is too complex for one to piece together. They seem to have dozens of agendas and will do anything necessary to achieve these goals. They can be anyone anywhere and use any tool they feel fits the job. I have never encountered a member who was not enslaved and willing to be enslaved again if cured. They seem to utilize Shrouds, Nightmares and "Smashing Fist" orcs as common shock troops. If you manage to learn anything about them bring the information directly to a local authority (it does not matter whether it be crown or towers because they violate all laws).
Stevah - An Ice Drake with too much power...I know little of him except he finally killed an Honourable warder from the earth guild and should be killed.
Trolls - I hear we have a truce with the main force of them now. There is still a "renegade" force causing troubles though.
These are the big ones I know to be active as of late. I could continue to list them but I would spend all my time writing.
