The Import List menu item will present you with a single alert:
This menu item is used to import a list of materials from another data file into the data file that is currently in use. It should be noted that the current list of materials must be deleted before the new listing can be imported into the data file. Therefore, unless it is absolutely certain that the current list of materials is unnecessary, it is recommended that the current list be backed up before the importing process starts. (For more information about backing up the data file, see Backing Up.)
Click the Start button to begin the process. A dialog box will appear asking for the data file from which to import. Once it is selected, the material list in the current data file will be deleted, and the material list from the file selected will be entered in its place.
It should be noted that if the process is interrupted, the data in the current data file may become corrupt. Make sure that the possibility of any such interruption is minimized before starting this operation. This is another reason to back up the current file before attempting to import.
