Africa Christian Ministries (ACM) has been developed under the leadership of Isaiah and Mercy Mafu from South Africa.
ACM has formed a partnership between believers in South Africa, Canada and the USA for ministry in South Africa. The work of ACM is currently located near the town of Empangeni in the KwaZulu-Natal province. Empangeni is surrounded by three large African townships with 600,000 people.
ACM has been granted a six acre site near Empangeni and the Indian Ocean. This site is easily accessible to the townships. A conference and training centre is being developed there. The first phase has been completed, an auditorium which will seat 400 people, kitchen, storage and bathroom. The whole project will cost about $400,000(US).
This facility is critical to the continuing growth of the ministry. It will allow classes and programs to be conducted in a place solely identified with the Lord's work. The conference centre will be in an area that is removed from much of the current township violence and crime. Many more individuals and families will feel free to come and participate.
South Africa was a country divided by ideology, culture and race until recently when it became a democracy. It still urgently needs the gospel of Jesus Christ. Africa Christian Ministries (ACM) is proclaiming the gospel of reconciliation and hope. It is reaching hundreds of children and young people. It is also developing a centre where South Africans of all strips can be trained, strengthened, and prepared for leadership roles in the new South Africa. The work of ACM focuses on: evangelism; training; encouragement; fellowship and service.
