Conrad and his wife ran a store that sold Atlantic Canada art, clothing, music, and food. I extended their presence by setting up a website for them that informed people about activities at the store. Used Microsoft technologies since at the time they offered the best combination of programming, controls and database connectivity to create the Content Management System for the site that allowed the content to be stored into an Access database and retrieved for display.

TheSecretOfWill.com, Spring/2007
www.TheSecretOfWill.com(closed down 2009)
Created for the documentary film: The Secret of Will. It has an online ordering component using:
Javascript
DHTML
Ajax
php
MySQL
An administration component keeps track of orders and sales contacts.
NorthWestPassageFilms.com, Spring/2007 (closed down 2009)
Created a private Content Management System to handle administration of orders, customer and film industry contacts for a library of documentary films. Orders for both NWPF and TheSecretOfWill.com sites are tracked in the same component. The CMS component was created using:
Javascript
DHTML
Ajax
php
MySql
works with FireFox and Internet Explorer
After testing the component by sending out 200 emails, found that the isp was not reliable: site not being available, failed to inform us that we were responsible for our own database backups, and strange changes to the database itself.

Because of the 80 Sketches of Our Town films located in Ontario, it was difficult to get a handle on them - they had been presented as a long list - very difficult to read. I grouped them by 2 methods:
one was by a film's location near a major town or city
the other was by a film's location in a region of the province
This gave an easier way to see what films there were in a particular region.
I created a database to hold this information about the Ontario documentary films. A film could only be in one major town or city but it could be in one or more regions of Ontario - depending on what region a person was interested in .
Film Footage Program, Spring/2008
Technologies Used:
Visual Basic 6
Access 2000 Database
Windows 98
Created application to run on a Windows 98 system to capture information about 5,000 video and audio tapes Conrad has stored. Travelled to Ottawa with Conrad to test the system and do any necessary debugging onsite.
Eventually this information is to form part of the NorthWestPassageFilms.com site for easy reference by potential buyers of stock footage and for Conrad to reference.
