ROCKABILLY
ROCK! ROCK!
ROCKABILLY BOOGIE!
In the mid fifties an exciting, but short lived revolution in pop music called "Rockabilly" was changing the face of music.
It's marriage to rhythm and blues, most notably in the early songs of Elvis Presley,
make it a fundamental stepping stone to "Rock and Roll" as we know it.
A hot, up tempo mixture of blues and country guitar licks was the backbone of this new sound.
Bands that were at the centre of this musical trend included Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, and The Johnny Burnette Rock 'n' Roll Trio.
More on this to come.
