A protruding chin Fig. 12a, although it may become a concern, does not yield itself to a simple method of correction. An involved technique of repositioning or removing of teeth and cutting the jaw bone may have to be used. Simple removal of the excess centre of the chin usually leads to a drooping of the muscle, creating an unsightly deformity. Fig 12b.
