The future of cars is here. It's the Honda Insight. North America's first gasoline - electric hybrid automobile. And it's nothing short of a technological breakthrough. It offers an incredible 3.2 litres/100 km on the highway, 3.9 litres/100 km in the city and an unheard of 1250 km range on one tank of fuel. The Insight is also designed to meet California's stringent Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standard. So it not only performs well on the road but also on the environment. At the centre of Insight's power is the Honda-designed Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system. It combines a 1.0-litre, 12-valve, 3-cylinder VTEC-E (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) gasoline engine with an electric motor powered by batteries that recharge while you drive, and never need to be plugged in. The Insight is setting the pace for the future of automotive technology. |
