CSS Menus CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) can be used to style unordered lists and turn them into stylish,
professional menus that would enhance the look of any website.
CSS Menus are search engine friendly, they will allow search engines to easily navigate and spider your pages.
They are easy to setup, even easier to update and will work even when javascript is turned off.
They will even degrade well for text readers and when CSS is turned off.

External CSS Files External CSS Files can control ever page elimate of your entire website. Regardless of how many pages your website consists of you are able to change your entire website by editing a sigle file. We will now look at some samples to demonstrate this. For the sake of demonstrations purposes I have only made minor changes to the external CSS file to conserve time. But you will get the idea. Do not click on the "Style none" option yet, I'll explain that in the next section.
Sellect the STYLE option from the above menu and toggle between Style one, two and three.
You are currently viewing Style one.
CSS Files and Mobile Browsers Most cellular phones are simple text only readers. For this reason they can not navigate image based menu systems. And although mobile browers are able to display images it comes at a cost. Mobile bwosers pay fairly high prices for bandwidth and therefore don't appreciate image based websites.
Since the menu here is generated from the external CSS file cellular phones and most mobile browsers will simply ignore this code presenting a text only based navigation system. The code is very lite therefore downloads very quickly with very little cost to them.
Some mobile browser are just now beginning to read CSS code. These device users will still continue to appreciate the very small amount of code to download in order to display your image free menu system.
See what they see. Sellect the STYLE option from the above menu and Style none. Click the "Home" text link to return here.
